We could not find the daily schedule in the park so we skipped IMAX and University Theater. We spent from 10am to 5 pm at Kennedy Space Center and were captivated the whole time. I do not recommend for those afraid of heights as you have to crawl through a clear tube looking down at the lower level of the building far below. The ISS exhibit was mildly claustrophobic and hard on the yknees. Shuttle simulator and slide that demonstrated the angle of shuttle descent was great. ![]() The films and presentations were excellent here also. Īfter Apollo/Saturn V we rode the bus back to the Visitor complex and went into the Atlantis building. Gift shops very also plentiful w many items for sale shirts, socks, key chains, cups, calendars, Christmas ornaments. The computer simulation of how the lunar lander was picked up by the command module was exactly what I needed to help me understand/ visualize what happened.įood was available to purchase in many areas including the Apollo/ Saturn building. Many hands on exhibits and memorabilia and memorials. We caught a short 20 minute tour and learned more about the Saturn V. The Saturn V rocket was amazing to see- no spoilers in this review. Bus driver was friendly and knowledgeable.īus drops passengers at the Apollo/ Saturn V building. Also on the bus several monitors played a video that was in sync with where you were driving in the complex. The bus ride was comfy and the driver was knowledgeable. It rained on the day we went and were glad that most everything at KSC was indoors.įirst we took the bus tour which is included in the regular admission. It can be a costly day, but we thought it was well worth it. ![]() We would suggest that you come with a picnic lunch. The food options consist of fast food quality at higher than fast food prices. There is also a small play area for kids, who get a little restless. If you are carrying anything (backpack, handbag), you must use the (free) lockers nearby before you get on line. We were at KSC for 7 hours and probably only saw half of what was available. Two hours felt like a lot of time to give up once we saw how much there was to see and do. The tour is very informative, but less so for kids. (This may only be permitted with the ‘Explore’ Bus Tour.) The bus tour is interesting – you get fairly close to launch sites and just by coincidence we were there a day or two before a launch so we saw a rocket in place. Also, we didn’t have to wait on a long line, as we bought a timed entry ticket. The Explore Tour is similar to the regular 2-hour bus tour, only it makes a few stops and guests are allowed off the bus for a quick photo op. We purchased the “Daily Admission and KSC Explore Tour” for $80.25 per person. It’s $10 to park – bear right to pay cash, left to use a credit card (the credit card line takes longer as people seem to have difficulty using it). ![]() We arrived early and clearly many others had the same idea.
